Red Bull have appealed against the disqualification of their driver Daniel Ricciardo, after he came second in the Australian Grand Prix only to be disqualified later._72684140_466077519 Daniel Ricciardo finished in second place behind Mercedes’s Nico Roseburg. This was the debut race for the new Red Bull driver who came out with flying colors at the first race of the season in Australia. After the results were announced the 24 year-old Australian driver was disqualified from the race because his car was using more fuel than the amount allowed and his team refused to reduce the inflow of fuel when they were informed of the same. Red Bull has said that fuel-flow meters that were provided by the sport’s governing authority, FIA, had constantly shown “inconsitencies” in its reading and cannot be taken as accurate and said that they and the engine provider Renault both believe that they were in “full compliance” with the new rule and kept the fuel-flow range under check througout. According to the new F1 rulings, engines must have maximum fuel-flow range of 100 kilograms per hour at full throttle. The fuel-flow range is checked by an indicator that is and the teams also keep a check on the fuel flow rate. Irregularities that are found in the fuel-flow range readings are analysed by the FIA and the teams are informed about the corrections that need to be made. Stewards said that Red Bull was informed of those irregularities and that they chose not correct them in order to perform better in the race. Red Bull’s driver, Daniel Ricciardo said that, “I did a good job in the car and I got to stand on the Australian Grand Prix podium, and no-one’s taking away the sensation of doing that,” also adding “What happens next is outside of my ability to control, but honestly, I’d rather it went down like this than have retired from the race with a mechanical problem.”
